Prime is 10.75% from 25 Sep 2026 (SARB, Listed (unconfirmed)); 12.75% is prime + 2, a typical rate for a clean credit record (Estimate: prime −1% to +3%). MFC (Nedbank) finances up to 96 months, Standard Bank and Capitec up to 84, mostly for new or near-new cars; on 84 and 96 months there is usually no balloon, so we leave it out. Balloons up to about 35–40% are offered on 72 months (Listed (unconfirmed), Oct 2026 research). A balloon lowers the instalment, but you still owe it at the end.
